Doris Ann Putman Criswell – Obituary

Doris Ann Putman Criswell, age 71, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 29, from 2– 3 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with David Rushlow officiating. Burial will be at Florence City Cemetery.
Doris traveled many places during her lifetime. She enjoyed flowers, camping, fishing and cherished her little dog, Daisy. She loved life itself.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Annie Putman; brother, Halbert Putman; brother-in-law, Larry Hale, Sr.; great grandchild, Bailey Gustafson; and nephew, Jeffrey Putman.
She left behind to share her memory her children; Jackie Criswell, Regina LaSonde and husband Gary Richmann, and Renee Criswell and husband James McGee; grandchildren, Brittney Williams, Maegan Kelly, and Mandy McGee; sister, Martha Hale; sister-in-law, Peggy Putman and many loving nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James McGee, Andrew Hale, Greg Storey, Gary Richmann, Brian Cranfield, and Marty Fraley. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Hale, Jr., Brian Storey and Charles Stowe.
A special thanks is also extended to Hospice of the Shoals and their loving and compassionate staff, especially nurse, Cynthia; aide, Lisa; and volunteer sitter, Ruth, as well as “make a wish” at Hospice of the Shoals. The family would like to express appreciation to her special friend, Claudia Goodman, who visited and helped her for many years and to Chris Gooch for the kindness he showed to her.
