Herbert Wallace Sherrill was born in Alabama on Aug. 2, 1940, and died on Feb. 28, 2016, at age 75, at Vanderbilt Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee. He was a retired security guard for Murray Guard. He is survived by son, Matthew Sherrill (Bobbie), Muscle Shoals, Alabama; daughter, Ruth Keenum (Tom Hannen), Mt. Hope, Alabama; brothers, Ray Sherrill, Town Creek, Alabama, and Joe Sherrill, Decatur, Alabama; grandsons, Morgan Sherrill, Codey Keenum, and Nathan Cummings; granddaughters, Lezlie Keenum, Nikki Wood (Gabe), and Kayla Cummings; great-grandsons, Jeremiah Wood, Ellie Wood, and Magnolia Sherrill. Stacy Sherrill, Morgan Sherrill, Tim Sherrill, Reggie Sprinkle, Kevin Tyler, Bryan Sherrill, Codey Keenum, and Shane Morgan are pallbearers. He was preceded in death by wife, Mary Kay Francis Cerny Sherrill; father, Herbert Samuel Sherrill; mother, Bessie Mae Garrett Sherrill-Wright; brother, Danny Wade Sherrill; and granddaughter, Nina Keenum. Wallace attended Grace Life Church of the Shoals and was a member of Loosier Church of Christ. Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Steve McAlister and the Rev. Lavanul Sherrill. Interment will be in Old Liberty Cemetery.
