Robert Milton Dawson, age 75, of Leighton Al., passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016. Visitation will be Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Leighton Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. with service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brother Mark Mayfield and Brother Greg Beasley will be officiating. He was a member of Leighton Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He belonged to Teamster Local 402, worked at Reynolds, and finished concrete along with working on lawn mowers as a hobby. Mr. Dawson was preceded in death by parents, Benjamin Thomas Dawson and Lassie Norene Jeffreys.; brother, Newell Dawson.
Survivors are wife, Gwendolyn Dawson; daughters, Donna Terry (Danny), Susie Posey (Pat), and Amy Mitchell (Lesley); brothers, Rayburn Dawson (Pat), Lendon Dawson (Toni), Terrell Dawson (Debra Kaye), Ferrell Dawson (Faye), and Bobby Dawson (Candy); sister, Elaine Crowden (Horace); grandchildren, Jeremy “Jed” Terry, Michael “Tiny” Terry, Christopher Posey, Jo’Hannah Stacey, and Braxton Stacey; great- great grandchildren, Bela Gargis, Katelyn Posey.
Pallbearers will be Carlos Berry, Lesley Mitchell, Larry Lee Underwood, Wayne Peeples, Earnest Underwood, Doug Little, Keith Poston, and Perry Bumgart.
