Helen Elizabeth Chancey Hagler, 85, died on Sunday. Born in Houston County, Alabama, she was the daughter of William Glenn Chancey and Hazel Grace Burdeshaw Chancey. A longtime resident of Huntsville, Mrs. Hagler was a charter member of Latham United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Wesley Sunday School Class and an active member of the Elderberries at Latham.
Survivors include her children: Rhett Hagler of Cocoa, FL; Amy Hagler Copeland of Georgetown, TX and Karen Hagler Moraes of Suwanee, Ga; grandchildren, Sarah Hagler Smith, Jenna, Allyson and Caroline Copeland, Anthony and Katherine ‘Kitty’ Moraes; great-grandchildren, Braydon Boucher, Elayna Boucher, McKenzie Smith and Lillian Smith; and sister, Mary Glynn Chancey Gamble of Sanford, FL.
Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, January 23 at Latham United Methodist Church. A memorial service will immediately follow at the church with Michael Ratliff officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
