Funeral service for Nancy Lou Smith Beaty, age 81, of Decatur, will be Tuesday, January 19, 2016, 3:30 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rob Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 18, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Beaty, who died Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Decatur Health & Rehabilitation Center, was born July 9, 1934, in Athens, to Orville Daniel Smith and Mattie Lou Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wayne Beaty, and her parents.
She is survived by one son, Daniel Beaty (Patricia) of Arley; one daughter, Cheryl Lynn Beaty (Michael Bowan) of Decatur; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Derek Beaty, Paul Beaty, Wesley Randolph, Trea Barnett, Aaron Barnett, and Dustin Sheffield.
