Olivia Bledsoe was born on August 1, 1936, to the late Charlotte Patton in Limestone County, Alabama. She departed this life on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Athens Limestone Hospital. “Muh”, as she was affectionately known, was a loving mother and friend to all who knew her.
Olivia accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined Phillips Tabernacle Primitive Baptist Church. Later she moved her membership to Bright Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America, where she attended until her passing.
Olivia was preceded in death by her sisters: Mrs. Irene Facison, Ms. Florence Patton and Mrs. Dora Jefferson; and her son: Elder James E. Bledsoe.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her companion: Mr. William Sowell; her devoted sons: Mr. Ricky Bledsoe of Tanner, AL, Mr. Anthony (Mattie) Bledsoe of Pulaski, TN, Mr. Leon Bledsoe of Athens, AL, Mr. Tyrone (Tracie) Bledsoe of Franklin, TN, Mr. Kim (Cyndi) Bledsoe, Mr. Don (Natasha) Bledsoe and Mr. Kenny (Ineka) Bledsoe, all of Athens, AL; two sisters: Mrs. Annie D. Wallace and Mrs. Golden Vance, both of Madison, AL, twenty grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016 at the Bright Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church (11796 Mooresville Road, Madison, AL 35756). Interment will be in Thatch Mann Cemetery. Mrs. Bledsoe will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Friday, January 1, 2016 at the Royal Chapel of Memories.
Public Viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 1, 2016, and from 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016, at the Royal Funeral Home.
