robbinsonJames Walter “Robbie” Robinson, age 89, of Florence, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015. Visitation will be Monday, January 4th, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Spry~Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Brother Perry Taylor and Chaplin Doug Dixon officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. James was a charter member of Woodlawn Church of Christ, a member of the Masonic Lodge of Killen, Alabama, and was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in World War II. After retiring with Reynolds Alloys, he worked as a security officer with Regency Square Mall. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Louise Robinson; children, Lonnie J. Robinson and Teresa Wilson; granddaughter, Tammy Lynn Robinson; sisters, Christine Wright and Norma Jean Smith. Survivors are his wife, Kathryn Robinson; daughter, McKala Robinson Hinds (David); sons, Don Mitchell and Ronnie Corkins; sisters, Elizabeth Bennett and Peggy Engle; brothers, Sidney and Roy Robinson; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and one on the way. Memorials may be made to United Cerebral Palsy.
