Jhon Allen Franks, 75, of Harvest, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015. A native of Cherokee, AL and a resident of Madison for over 25 years. He was a retired Master Seragent from the U.S. Army with 21 years of service, having served during the Vietnam War. He was also retired from civil service with the Redstone Police Department.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Elizabeth Montgomery Franks and his daughter, Nelody Franks.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret S. Franks; two sons, Dexter A. Franks of Huntsville, James A. Franks of Harvest; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, December 21, visitation will be at Morrison Chapel in Cherokee, AL from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a chapel service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Harris Chapel Cemetery in Cherokee, AL. Rev. Jerry Hovis and Wayne Franks will be officiating.
