Funeral service for Haskel Evans, 80, will be Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at 3 p.m. at Somerville Baptist Church with Pastor Shane Lewis officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the church.
Mr. Evans died on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015 at Falkville Health Care Center. He was born Sept. 29, 1935, in Morgan County to Deck Evans and Wilma Evans. He was preceded in death by his father and his wife, of 55 years, Maxine Eubanks Evans. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a lifelong truck driver.
Survivors include one son, Tony Evans (Kathy), Hartselle; one daughter, Sheila Norman (Guy), Hartselle; two sisters,
Earlene Day (David), Somerville and Pat Steenson (Bill), Hartselle; mother, Wilma Evans, Somerville; grandchildren, Abbey Jenkins (Jason), Nik Norman (Carrie), Sky Evans, Weston Evans (Quinci), McKenzie Moore (Wyatt), Kasey Ray, and Joseph Ray; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Nik Norman, Jason Jenkins, Tony Evans, Sky Evans, Weston Evans and Wyatt Moore.
In lieu of flowers, make memorial contributions to “Hands and Feet Ministry” at Somerville Baptist Church.
