Melvin Ray Martin of Pulaski passed away on Saturday, December 05, 2015 at Maury Regional Health Care in Columbia. He was born in Pulaski, TN on November 15, 1931 and was 84 years old.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He worked for Heil Quacker for 45 years and was also a dairy and beef farmer. He was a member of the Bunker Hill Church of God where he was very devoted to God and family. He also proudly served our country in the Korean War.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 6th from 2:00pm until 6:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
Funeral service will take place on Monday, December 7th at 3:00pm in the chapel of Bennett-may-Giles County Funeral Home with Bro David Ford and Tommy Frady officiating.
Memorial donations are asked to go to Bunker Hill Church of God.
Burial will follow in the Youngs Chapel Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dezzie Beatrice Pillow Martin, brothers, Eugene Martin, Chester Martin, Billy Martin, Mahlon Martin, and Cecil Martin, sisters, Samella Storey, Ruth Freeman, and Kathleen Tarpley.
He is survived by his,
Wife of 59 years, Ann Holt Martin of Pulaski
Daughter, Sheila Ann (Ronald) Johnson of Pulaski
Son, Kenneth Ray (Holly Jo) Martin of Pulaski
Daughter, Kristi Michelle (Don) Thorpe of Pulaski
Grandchildren, Keera (Kyle) Huron, Jeffrey Lee Thorpe, James Christopher (Paige) Thorpe, Jacob Martin (Elizabeth) Johnson, and Jordan Wray.
Great- grandchildren, Aubrey Blaise Thorpe, James Jaxon Thorpe, and Melody Ruth Huron with an anticipated arrival of February 13, 2016.
Several nieces and nephews also survived
Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements for Melvin Ray Martin.
