Gwen Jones, 81, of Huntsville, passed away Saturday. One of 10 children of Ed and Grace Jones, Gwen was born in Hokes Bluff, Alabama and attended Berry College in Rome, GA. He received his PhD from VPI in 1965. After a long career as a physicist, he opened and operated Woodcraft Specialties for 35 years retiring with the sale of the business. He enjoyed dancing, traveling and a life of leisure.
Survivors include Edna Jones; children, Kimberly Ruf (Harold), Andrea McNeil, and Lee Jones; grandchildren, Jonathan McNeil, Wesley Kelley, Nathan, Kelley, William Kelley, and Alexandria Jones; sister, Sarah Julia Davis; and brother, Aldredge Ray Jones.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Victory Junction Gang Camp to help children with serious illnesses.
