Funeral service for Fletcher Hill, age 92, of Decatur, will be Saturday, November 21, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe David Bailey, Mike Washburn, and Justin Tanner officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service. Interment will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Hill, who died Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at his residence and surrounded by family, was born March 7, 1923, in Morgan County, to Arthur Clay Hill and Lillie Tanksley Hill. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Hill and Leldon Hill, and two sisters, Inez Myers (Bob) and Movilee Reid (Joe). Fletcher was a member of Summit Baptist Church. Following retirement from Monsanto, he remained active on his farm.
He is survived by his loving wife, Eunice Washburn Hill of Decatur; two daughters, Linda Millsap of Decatur, and Karen Tanner and favorite son-in-law, Jim Tanner, of Danville; three sisters, Frances Lott, Avis Wallace (Rassie), and Mary Jones (Larry); one sister-in-law, Ann Hill; six grandchildren, Michael Millsap (Genna), Renae Nowak (Stacy), Justin Tanner, Leslie Tanner, Jared Tanner (Kimberly), and John Tanner (Allison); and six great-grandchildren, Jada Nowak, Steven Millsap, Makena Millsap, Tyler Tanner, Lilly Tanner, and Emmalia Millsap.
Pallbearers will be Michael Millsap, Stacy Nowak, Justin Tanner, Jared Tanner, John Tanner, Steven Millsap, and Tyler Tanner.
