LAUDERDALE COUNTY-The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office has been asked by the family of Connie Ridgeway to assist in the murder investigation.

At the request of family members, the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office is entering the investigation into the murder of Connie Ridgeway. Ms. Ridgeway was found in her apartment in Rogersville, Alabama on Friday, October 23rd.
The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) was appointed the lead agency in the investigation by District Attorney Chris Connolly at the request of Rogersville Police Chief Terry Holden. The SBI is still the lead agency but
Lt. Brad Potts of the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office has been assigned to assist with the case by Sheriff Rick Singleton. A meeting with SBI Agent Heath Moss was held yesterday in the Sheriff’s office to discuss the family’s request.
Sheriff Singleton stated “we certainly respect any decision made concerning this investigation to this point but when the family asked us to get involved I cannot, and will not, deny them. I feel our investigators can be of tremendous value in this investigation and we will do everything we can to assist in bringing the person or persons responsible for committing this crime to justice.”
