Vester Oneal “Ves” Bishop, 85, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015, at the Red Bay Hospital.
He was born in Franklin County, Alabama to William Simpson Bishop and Shellie Bell Bullock Bishop. He was retired from Boeing in Pennsylvania where he was a line mechanic. He was a member of Red Bay Free Will Baptist Church.
Services will be Sunday, Oct. 25, at 3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, Alabama. Burial will be in Berry Cemetery, Vina, Alabama. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama, will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are two sons, Neal Bishop (Joan), Cochranville, Pennsylvania, and Joseph Peter Bishop (Diane), Lancaster, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Emily Marie Sills (Fred), Vina, Alabama; one brother, Bobby Matthew Bishop; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Modena Newton Bishop, his parents, one brother, Estes Bishop, two sisters, Ruth Newton and Susie Coggins, and a grandson, Daniel Dodds.
Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 25, noon-3 p.m., at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama.
