Governor Bentley and the First Lady at the AMHOF Banquet in Florence
MONTGOMERY-As of 9:24 am today, August 28th Alabama First Lady, Dianne Bentley has filed for divorce from Governor Robert Bentley in their home county of Tuscaloosa.
The papers were filed in Tuscaloosa County and listed claims that “There is such a complete incompatibility of temperament that the parties can no longer live together. She also states …. “she is without sufficient funds with which to support herself and to pay her attorney of record …the Defendant is an able-bodied man…and is well able to pay the debts of the parties incurred during the marriage, to pay the Plaintiff a reasonable sum for her support and maintenance…”
The Bentley’s were married in 1965 and have four adult children. According to court documents the Bentley’s separated in January of this year.
Governor Bently is serving his second term as Alabama governor and has not to date released a statement.
