Billy Wayne Black, 81, of Athens passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Limestone Health and Rehab. Mr. Black was born July 17, 1934 in Limestone County to Sam Black and Vera Maynard Black.
Services will be today, August 27, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from noon to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Black was a member of First Baptist Church for 40 years. He loved gardening.
Preceded in death by a son, Barry Black; and sister, Louise Haney.
Survived by his wife, Arenita H. Black; one daughter, Patsy Bartlett of Athens; three grandchildren, Samantha Black of Athens, Luke Johnson of Nashville, TN and Meagan Bridges of Athens; and one sister, Annette Bridges of Athens.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Black, Dennis Black, Roger Elliott, Mike Lawson, Luke Johnson and Marvin Todd. Honorary pallbearers will be Senior Adult Men’s I Sunday school class at First Baptist Church.
