Edward Austin Murks,82, of Lexington, AL, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015, at his residence. He was a retired firefighter at Redstone Arsenal, a former member of the U.S. Air Force, and of the Seventh Day Adventist faith.

Survivors include:

Wife: Mary McDuffie Murks

Daughters: Deborah Wimberly (Michael) and Donna Smith (Trey)

Brother: Henry Leroy Mitchell

Sister: Kathryn Simpson (Mitchell)

(3) Grandchildren and (3) Great Grandchildren

Preceded in death by:

Parents: Albert Murks and Gertrude Kizer Mitchell

Daughter: Susan Sczelich

Brother: William Murks

The visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 11:00-1:00 pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm in the chapel of the funeral home with Michael Wimberly officiating. Burial will be in Moore Cemetery in Lexington.

Pallbearers will be Jason Wimberly, Tyler Butler, Matthew Butler, Russell Sinyard, Gary Simpson, and Wesley Murks.

Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
