Shirley Ann Bennett age 79 of Athens passed away Friday August 21, 2015 at Limestone Health and Rehab. She was born July 27, 1933 in Floyd, Virginia to Arvil Cox and Lora E Duncan Cox.
Services will be Tuesday August 25, 2015 at 2:00PM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Bill Perkins and Carl Witty will be officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday August 25, 2015 from 1:00PM until 1:45PM at the funeral home.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Arvil and Lora Cox.
She is survived by her husband Paul Bennett of Athens, AL. Her sons: Steve Holden (Rene) of Harvest, AL, and Jamie Holden (Michele) of Athens, AL, grandsons Ben Holden and Blake Holden both of Athens, AL. She is also survived by three step children: Mike Bennett (Donna) of Athens, AL, Ann Moore (Jeff) of Hoover, AL, and David Bennett of Athens, AL. Also eight step grandchildren, four step great grandchildren and three cousins.
She was a member of Central Church of Christ. She was retired from Athens College.
