FLORENCE-Oliver W. Brazelle former music and youth minister at First United Methodist Church of Sheffield entered a guilty plea to the charge of Child Molestation on Tuesday, August 4th.

Brazelle acknowledged having molested a young boy at his lake home in Happy Hollow multiple times from 1995 through 1998. According to court records the teen was under 16 at the time of the incidents.

As part of the plea agreement Brazelle must register as a sex offender after his release.   The 2nd degree sodomy charge was dismissed  as another part of the plea agreement.

Brazelle was indicted in August of 2014 although complaints were made to authorities in Sheffield as earlier as July of 2012.  After investigation no one would testify and the matter was dropped until SBI arrested Brazelle in January 2014 after opening the new investigation in Lauderdale County in December  of 2013.

Sentencing in this case is set for October 7, 2015.  Brazelle has been out on a bond of $45,000.
