Steven Carlton James, age 62, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015. His visitation will be Monday, July 20th, 2015 from 1- 2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Scott Livingston officiating. Burial will be in Tuscumbia Oakwood Cemetery.
Steven worked for Labor Local 366 for over 20 years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Cherokee and of the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his father, Edison James.
He is survived by his mother, Aline James; brother, William James and wife Brenda; one nephew, Matthew James and wife, Jo-Lynn and their children, Sarah and Will; and one niece, Lori James.
Wayne Tacker, Dwight Hester, Tommy Waldrep, Ralph Waldrep, Randy Ethridge and Michael Rutland will serve as pallbearers.
