Christopher Joseph Boerckel
FLORENCE-A Sheffield man was arrested on 67 counts of Obscene Acts Involving a Minor by the US Marshals Gulf Coast Task Force. He is currently being held in The Lauderdale County Detention Center.
Here is what the Florence Police Department has to say about the arrest:
“Christopher Joseph Boerckel, 24, Gordon Dr, Sheffield was arrested yesterday by officers with the US Marshals Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force on 67 felony counts of obscene acts involving a minor under the age of 17. The charges stem from an ongoing investigation following reported inappropriate contact between Boerckel and a minor. The allegations involving sexual acts which are believed to have occurred in 2014 involving a single victim. These charges follow a 3 month investigation by the Florence Police Department and the Alabama Department of Human Resources. Additional evidence collected is being processed by state officials and additional charges are likely following forensic examinations of electronic evidence. Boerckel is being held at the Lauderdale County Detention Center on bond totaling $345,000.00.”
