Terry Franklin Morris, age 68, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on June 18, 2015 after a difficult struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Terry was born on May 12, 1947 in Roanoke, Virginia to Ted and Ruth Morris. He studied Electrical Engineering at Virginia Tech University, receiving his Bachelor’s degree in 1970 and a Master’s in 1976.
He married Deborah Inscoe on Dec 16, 1967. Together, they have two children, Tabitha and William. Terry relocated with his family to Huntsville in 1980, where he worked as a software engineer and consultant in and around Redstone Arsenal for the subsequent thirty years.
Alongside his work, Terry was an avid tennis player and bowler as well as a lover of board games and Mel Brooks movies. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren and inventing games for them to play while trying, so far without success, to talk them into becoming engineers. Those who knew him will miss his generous spirit, irrepressible wit, and kind nature.
Terry is survived by his wife, Deborah, his daughter, Tabitha Kontur, his son, William Morris, and his four grandchildren Allexander, Erika, and Emma Kontur, and Madeleine Morris, as well as his brothers James Morris and Gary Harris.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Virginia Tech College of Engineering Scholarship Fund by way of the Virginia Tech Foundation, Inc., Blackbsburg, Virgnia or a donation to the charity of your choice.
