ATHENS-The City of Athens Relay for Life Team wanted to share the following “Thank You” to all those who supported their efforts through sponsorships, volunteering to work events, buying tickets, signing up to participate in events and just showing support.
An Open Letter Of Thanks:
Dear Community,
Thank you for supporting our City of Athens Relay for Life Team this campaign year. You ran a 5K, fished for bass, stood in line for Swamp John’s and gave tips to celebrity waiters.
By doing so, you also helped fight for a cure, raise awareness, and support patients in Athens and Limestone County. Because of your support, our team raised $14,050 to #beatcancer. We finished second behind T&C Stamping, which did an amazing job of raising over $25,000.
Your efforts have touched lives. We have heard the stories, such as a mother from Enterprise who lost her own mother to cancer and who was proud of her son and grandson for fishing in our Mother’s Day weekend Bass Fishing Tournament.
There are too many people for us to name who supported us. Our citizens, our businesses, our non-profit agencies, and those from neighboring cities made this campaign year possible.
