Marcella Vernette Carter, 78 of Florence, AL passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015. The funeral service will be Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with J.C. Young officiating. Burial to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
She was a native of Lauderdale County and a member of Oak Grove Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her children Tommy Lee, Margie Marcella and Dennis Ray Carter, granddaughter Vanessa Lee Ann Scott, brothers Billy, Ronald and Milton Phillips, sisters Lavon Burney and parents Emmitt Lee and Lady Phillips.
Survivors include daughter Shirley Wear, Sue Leadford and Norma Jean Matthews, sisters Mable Sharpton, Clista Scott and Gracie Mitchell, numerous grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Beloved pets Lady Bug and Butch.
Pallbearers include Steven Hart, Brandon Leadford, Josh Leadford, Randall Cromwell, Leroy Cromwell and Chase Wanner.
