MUSCLE SHOALS – Gary Dan Williams and his staff at the Muscle Shoals Career Academy held the 2nd Annual Labor Career Day on Tuesday. It was an opportunity for Students from many area high schools to get a better understanding of the advantages that a labor union career offers.
This year was High-Tech. Lots of computers, lots of simulations. The equipment at the school was a mixture of traditional demonstration pieces as well as augmented reality simulations. Students were able to get on the equipment first-hand in a high tech environment.
Williams emphasized that this new facility is not simply a traditional trade school. “This facility”, he said, “offers 3 paths for the students. They can prepare for college-level learning after high school, for entrance to learning programs for skilled trades, and they can gain skills for direct entry into the workforce directly out of high school.”
