HARTSELLE-The Hartselle Police has received two complaints today concerning residents who have received a call from a man representing himself as Deputy Marshall. The man has informed the residents they failed to show up for jury duty and have outstanding warrants for their arrest. They were then advised to send two $500 money orders to resolve the issue. THIS IS A SCAM SO DO NOT SEND MONEY VIA MONEYGRAM OR WESTERN UNION OR ANY OTHER WIRE TRANSFER TO ANYONE THAT YOU DON’T PERSONALLY KNOW. “Personally know” means you know them by some other means than meeting them online. Also, do not give out your personal information to confirm your identity to anyone who calls you on the telephone.
The man representing himself as Deputy Marshall called from telephone number 256-200-0840. Please spread the word and help save someone from being scammed.
Thank you,
