Lester Dexter, 89, of Iuka, Mississippi, died March 24, 2015, at his residence. He was an U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, and was Founder and Vice President of the Tri-State K-9 Search Team. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Visitation is scheduled for 4 until 9 PM on Wednesday, March 25 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka. Services will be officiated by Lance Foster. Interment will follow in Campground Cemetery. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary bearers will be Kyle Wimbley, Joe Lambert, Earl Strickland, Earl Walker, J.E. Hudson, and Jesse Dexter. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by 2 sons – Ray Dexter (Ella Dean) and Robert Dexter (Kathy), both of Iuka; 2 sisters – Hazel Ellis of Okalona, MS and Delorise “Dumpy” Stewart of Duck Hill, MS; 8 grandchildren – Shannon Dexter, Leslie Howard Dexter, Joscelyn Wimberly (Kyle), Jerred Spencer, Joe Spencer, Tina Spencer, Joe Lambert, and Katherine Broad; 12 great grandchildren – Katlyn Dexter, Jeremy Gaines, Cameron Dexter, Chandler Dexter, Brooke Dexter, Baylee Fleming, Hunter Wimberly, Jerred Spencer (Kristi), Preston Spencer (Amber), Shania Spencer, Brittany Broad, and Carli Jo Spencer; and 4 great great grandchildren – John Grady Spencer, Paisley Spencer, Haley Spencer, and Macie Spencer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Francis Cumi Dexter; his parents, Sam W. and Ruth Perry Dexter; his siblings, Martha Jo Dexter, Sam “Shot Dexter, and an infant brother; and a granddaughter in law, Sarah Spencer.
