Clifford Rast, 89, of Iuka, Mississippi, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015, at Darlington Oaks Community Hospice, in Verona, Mississippi. He was born on April 14, 1925, to Walter Lee Rast and May Lou Duncan Rast in Tishomingo, Mississippi. Clifford was a member of the Iuka Church of Christ and attended faithfully when his health permitted. He was an Army veteran and served in WWII. He was also a retired business owner of C and J Auto Repair in Iuka. Clifford is survived by his wife of 68 years, Emma Parsons Rast; 2 daughters, Shirley Taylor (Wayne) and Betty Bishop (Jerry); 1 son, James “Jim” Clifford Rast (Delores); 1 brother, Tulon Rast of Iuka; 4 grandchildren, Craig Bishop (Lisa), Joseph Bishop (Ellen), Brian Taylor, Harley Williams (Jeff); and a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren along with nieces and nephews. Clifford is preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Louis, Roy, Hafford, and Vester; 2 sisters, Dona Rast Rowan and Velma Rast Dennington; and 1 great-grandson, Brandon Nicholas Bishop. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 on Tuesday, February 10, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 11 at the Iuka Church of Christ. Lance Foster and Coy Dailey will officiate the services. Interment will follow at Providence Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers include Craig Bishop, Stanley Brumley, Joseph Bishop, Brian Taylor, Jeff Williams, Harold Oliver, Danny Dennington and Stacy Parker. Memorials may be made in his honor to Pinevale Children’s Home in Corinth, Mississippi.
