Jerry Bryson Tucker, 81, of Huntsville, passed away Friday. Jerry was born in Attala, Alabama to Jewel Phillips and E.B. Tucker. He attended the University of Alabama where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Phi Social Fraternity, The Jasons, and other honoraries he was too modest to talk about. After graduation, he spent nearly two years in the military and returned to the University of Alabama to earn his law degree. He was a member of the Farrah Order, The Law Review, and graduated with honors. After clerking in Montgomery for Judge Robert Harwood, in 1961 he moved his growing family to Huntsville to join the firm that was to become Bell, Richardson, Cleary, McLain and Tucker. Later Jerry and Bob Willisson joined in the practice of law.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 59 years, Josephine McEachern Tucker; sons, Jerry, Jr., Charles M., and Ray M. and wife, Lisa; daughter-in-law, Dawn H. Tucker and her son, Joe; and grandchildren, Kirby, Matthew, Joie, Bailiegh, Bryleigh and T.D.

The family is grateful to Shane Speidel for his home care assistance during the last months. In lieu of a funeral, Jerry requested that friends spend the time visiting a nursing home, reading to a child, taking friends to lunch, or doing whatever makes someone happy. It would be nice to tell the family what you did. Donations to the Botanical Gardens are welcome or the charity of your choice.
