Eugene Sewell, 88 of Houston entered into rest on January 19, 2015 in Haleyville, Alabama.
He was born on October 20, 1926 in Winston County, Alabama. Mr. Sewell proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War ll. He then worked in the mobile home industry and Country Expressions. Eugene was a member of New Home Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and was a Sunday School Teacher.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 6-8 at New Home Missionary Baptist Church in Moreland Community, where services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 2pm. Mr. Sewell will lie in state from 1-2pm. Burial will be in Moreland Cemetery,
He is survived by his daughter, Janice Carol Welborn and her husband Ray. Eugene was “Pop” to 4 grandchildren, Gregory Ray (Michelle) Welborn, Stephanie Carol (Tim) Wallace, Jonathan Bradley (Melissa) Welborn, Bethany Lanette (John) Moore; 9 great-grandchildren, Jessie Megan Wallace, Tucker Will Wallace, Elizabeth Savannah Welborn, Eric Trenton Welborn, Haley Elisabeth Welborn, Madison Aliyah Welborn, Brayden Nathaniel Welborn, Natalie Beth Moore, Avery Kate Moore; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Riddle Sewell; parents, Terrell and Ludy Sewell; brothers, Eudene and Lecil Sewell; sisters, Jessie Scogin, Bessie Burks, Della Helton and Dollie Womack.
