Douglas Neal Thompson age 81 of Madison, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015. Mr. Thompson was born November 27, 1933 in Heflin, AL to Leonard Thompson and Addie Mae McCrary Thompson.
Services will be Friday, January 9, 2015 12:30 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with David Tubbs officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mr. Thompson was an active member of Good Shepherd Methodist Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and was involved in Gemini and Apollo Space program and retired from TVA.
Survived by one son, Neal Thompson and wife, Cindy of Priceville, AL; one step-son, Jay Scott and wife, Jill of Collierville, TN; one step-daughter, Crysti Keefauver and husband, Robert of Madison, AL; one sister, Christine; two grandchildren, David Thompson and wife, Eva of Athens, AL and Rachel Thompson of Priceville, AL; four step-grandchildren, Judson Scott of Collierville, TN, Matthew Keefauver of Madison, AL, Ann Wallace Scott of Collierville, TN and Darby Keefauver of Madison, AL.
Pallbearers will be Jim McFarlan, Gordon Perry, Henry Smith, Jerry Stone, Don Ricketts and George Gorsuett. Honorary pallbearers will be Senior Moments and Speeders.
