OI1017996300_torainphotoFuneral for Susie Holloway Torain, 101 of Decatur will be noon, Tuesday at David Temple Word of Faith Church with Bishop Curtis Foster officiating and burial in Roselawn Garden of Memory. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public viewing will be Sunday from 2-6 and Monday from 10-7 at Reynolds Funeral Home.

She wrote her final chapter Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at her home, with family and friends by her side. She was born December 25, 1913 to John and Emma Foster Holloway.

She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined David Temple Church.

She was married to the late William Torain Sr. and to this union 16 children were born.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four children, Louise, Danella, Charles and Alvin.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Novella Nelson, William Torain Jr. (Sadie), Emma Shaw (Charles), Vivian Wiggins, James Torain Sr., John Torain (Cathy), Cleveland, Ohio, Sellie Bledsoe, Naomi Langford, Estell Nicholas, Delores McCoy (Charles), Larry Torain, Dariel Torain (Lynne) of Hillsboro, Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Coffey, Annie V. Torain; a special friend, and caregiver, Elaine Young; 45 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Bearers will be grandchildren.
