Willard David Murphy, 93, Russellville, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Lakeland Community Hospital of Haleyville.
The visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2014 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with the body lying in state one hour prior to the service. Officiating will be Bro. Venlon Bradford. Burial will be at Kimbrough Cemetery, with military honors.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy June Murphy; parents, James Midland & Huldah Murphy; son, Richard Hugh Murphy; grandsons, Jamie Murphy, Brian Richard Murphy, Derek Wayne Murphy; brother, Charles Amos Murphy; and sisters, Bertha and Mary Francis.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, Wayne Murphy, Bryce Murphy (Sue), Jim Murphy (Jan); grandchildren, Daniel, Joe, Lauren, April, Justin, Melissa; great-grandchildren, Haiden, Ty, Maggie; special niece, Jean Stone; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
