Following a recent illness and surrounded by her family, Mary Jo Taylor passed away peacefully on December 16th.
One of seven siblings, Mary Jo was born to the late Jim and Thelma Thomas of West Huntsville, Alabama. A member of West Huntsville High School Class of 1949, Mary Jo went on to marry her high school sweet heart, the late Tom Taylor. She and Tom lived in Auburn until his graduation in 1952 and remained an avid War Eagle fan for the next 75 years.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and good times with neighbors, friends and family. Mary Jo has four children: Pat (Ed), Randy (Ellen), Lynn (Charlie) and Tina (Dan); eight grandchildren: Chad, Ashley, Valerie, Taylor, Katie, Mary Lynn, Johnathon and Matthew; and thirteen great grandchildren: Dalton, Chase, Jake, Ashton, Grayson, Cole, Thomas, Stokely, Everett, Josey, Aylee and Piper. She loved her family and was considered by all as “The Cool Mom.” She is also survived by her brothers Bob and David (JoAnn) and sister Jackie (Billy Ralph) and a multitude of neices and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held Friday, December 19th at Laughlin Service Funeral Home at 10:00 am with the funeral service immediately following.
