Four Arrested On Drug Charges In Morgan County

a1LACEY’S SPRING– The Morgan County Sheriff’s Department on Monday, December 8th, made a routine call in reference to possible drug activity.  Here is what Sheriff Ana Franklin has to say about the arrest of four on drug charges:

“Monday, December 8, 2014, Morgan County Deputies responded to a residence sometime around 5 a.m., located at 29 Keener Dr. in Lacey’s Spring, Al., in reference to possible drug activity, being the Manufacturing of Methamphetamine.a2 Deputies made contact with Renwick Schoonmaker (W/M 38), Jessica Schoonmaker (W/F 36), Matthew Thornberry (W/M 21) and Kelly Walker (W/F 24) within residence, as well as a 13 year W/M. Deputies smelled a strong chemical odor in the air outside the residence and also located a glass jar containing a cloudy liquid substance inside a 5th wheel RV on the property.
a3Morgan County Drug Task Force Agents were notified and shortly arrived on the scene. Agents obtained a Search Warrant for the residence and property. Agents located Methamphetamine making materials and tools outside of the residence, being: Instant cold packs (ammonia nitrate), pill grinder, crystal draino (lye), 2- empty packages of cold medicine containing Pseudoephedrine, empty container of Zippo lighter fluid, iodized salt and metal cutting tools. Agents also located a glass jar containing over 1a4 ounce of Liquid Methamphetamine within 5th wheel RV on property. Morgan County DHR was contacted and later arrived on scene and placed juvenile into other family members custody. Lacey’s Spring VFD were notified and arrived on scene and decontaminated all subjects.
Renwick Schoonmaker and Jessica Schoonmaker were arrested and charged with the Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree- Methamphetamine (Bond set at $300,000.00), Trafficking in Methamphetamine (Bond set at $30,000.00) and for Drug Endangerment of a Child (Bond set at $30,000.00). Bond totaling $360,000.00. Renwick Schoonmaker has an additional charge of Domestic Violence 3rd Degree (Bond set at $300.00).
Matthew Thornberry and Kelly Walker were arrested and charged with Unlawful Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree – Methamphetamine (Bond set at $25,000.00) and Trafficking in Methamphetamine (Bond set at $2,500.00). Bond totaling $27,500.00.”
