Garland Ray Lucas, age 74, of Detroit, Alabama, passed away Saturday, December 6th, 2014, at his residence.
Visitation, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening, December 9th, 2014, at the Otts Funeral Home in Sulligent, Alabama. Graveside service and interment of cremains, 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 10th, 2014, at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Detroit, Lamar County, Alabama. Bro. Darren Pollard officiating.
Mr. Lucas was born May 17th, 1940, in Lamar County, Alabama, to the late Arthur Lee and Shalar Mae Bolin Lucas. He enjoyed in his spare time, gardening, fishing, hunting and camping. He previously worked and retired from NACCO in Sulligent, Alabama. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Lucas, Detroit, AL.; 1 son, Junior (Angie) Lucas, Guin, AL.; 1 daughter, Betty (Darren) Pollard, Guin, AL.; 1 grandchild, Zoe Lucas; 4 brothers, Rayburn (Sue) Lucas, Hamilton, AL., Buddy (Martha) Lucas, Hamilton, AL., Carl (Glenda) Lucas, Hamilton, AL., and Jody (Nelda) Lucas, Brilliant, AL; 1 sister, Ruby Palmer, Hamilton, AL.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Lee and Shalar Mae Bolin Lucas; 4 brothers, W.T. Lucas, Jerry Lucas, Larry Lucas, and Gary Lucas; 3 sisters, Lovie Lucas, Beulah Lucas Mullins, and Kathy Kay Lucas.
