Richard Boyd Wilcoxson – Obituary

Funeral service for Richard Boyd Wilcoxson will be Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 12:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Shaddix and Phillip Hines officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Bethel Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Wilcoxson died on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Lawrence County, Tennessee to Rayford Wilcoxson and Elizabeth Johnson Wilcoxson, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Coffee High School in Florence, Alabama and from Alabama A & M State College. He was retired from his career as an Educator. Richard was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was active for many years in the Hartselle Kiwanis Club & Hartselle Clean City Association. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hartselle. Family members wanted to list more accomplishments to this obituary but at Richard’s explicit request, they will not.

One Son:
Richard (Bo) Wilcoxson (Julie), Haleyville, AL

Two Sisters:
Bobbie Caudle, Huntsville, AL and
Mary Fusch (Henri), Huntsville, AL

Two Grandchildren:
Lauran Wilcoxson, Haleyville, AL and
Mac Wilcoxson, Haleyville, AL

Aunt:
Jean Hill, St. Joseph, TN

Pallbearers will be William Booth, Jack Cash, Edwin White, Kenny Mitchell, Barry Sawyer, Paul Caudle, Wayne Wilcoxson and Jimmy Yarbrough

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Wilson, Robert Stephenson, Norris Turney, Coleman Smith, and J.J. Summerford.

In lieu of flowers – Family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or to The Caring Place.

I was saddened to hear that your father passed away. It is my sincere prayer that the Lord comfort you and the entire Wilcoxson family with the love and grace that only He can provide during times of sorrow.
