Ross Brackett Jr., 83, of Decatur, passed away at his home November 6, 2014. He leaves behind a loving wife and family. Ross was born February 24, 1931, to Ross Otis Brackett Sr. and Lucy Eldridge Brackett. He is a retired Organizing Representative for the International Union, United Auto Workers, and also a retiree of General Motors Delco Remy Division of Anderson, Indiana. He is a U.S. Army Veteran and served in France and Germany.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Milam Brackett; his children, Ann B. Scott (Johnnie), Ross O. Brackett III (Robyn), Jerry S. Brackett (Pamela), all of Danville, Virginia, Cynthia B. Crisler (David), of Carmel, Indiana, Randol L. Brackett (Kristie), of Macomb, Michigan, Robert R. Brackett (Sherry), of Atlanta, Georgia, Keith Jones (Rita), Kristy J. McBride (Mark), Carrie A. Jones, all of Decatur; sisters, Wanda B. Conley, Sara B. Kelly, Mary B. Masters (Ralph), all of Gastonia, North Carolina; brother, Roger W. Brackett (Kathy), of Charlotte, North Carolina; sisters-in-law, Sandra M. McCown (Butch), of Kingwood, Texas, Susan M. David (Dan), Athens, Alabama, Brenda M. Morgan, of Sugarland, Texas; and brother-in-law, Robert Milam, of Orange Beach, Alabama. He also leaves behind his loving dog, Jasper.
Grandchildren, Amanda Dent, Kari Brown, Katie Moore, Robert P. Brackett, Regan Brackett, Stephanie Wingfield, Michael Scott, Johnnie Scott, Miranda McGill, and Lucas Brackett.
Great-grandchildren, Madilyn, Nash, Noah, McKenzie, Joslyn, Isaiah, Cameron, Lindsay, Hunter, Ryan, Sawyer, Jackson, Samuel, Grace, Cyrus, Brodey, Dawson, and Jaxson, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ross O. Brackett and mother, Lucy E. Brackett; and two brothers, Robert E. Brackett and Reese D. Brackett Sr.; and one granddaughter, Angela Ross Crisler.
