Funeral service for Jackie Alto Turner, age 78, of Decatur, will be Wednesday, November 12, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Fred Green officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Turner, who died Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Decatur Health and Rehabilitation, was born February 26, 1936, in Morgan County, to Alton Turner and Elizabeth Brown Turner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Walden Turner; and three brothers, Lester, Wayne, and Roy Turner. He retired as a Postmaster and was a U. S. Army veteran.
He is survived by one son, Robert Turner (Tonda) of Decatur; one daughter, Jackquelynn Collins (MacArthur) of Hartselle; two brothers, Steve Turner and Mark Turner; three sisters, Trish Middlebrooks, Sue Maples, and Deb Blair; five grandchildren, Amanda Collins, Audra Prater, Andrew McKay, Keely Turner, and Megan Cryer; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Allen Blair, David Maples, Bryan Maples, Tracy Maples, Andrew McKay, and Brian Collins.
