DECATUR-The Decatur Police Department made an arrest on Monday, November 3rd in a Fraud case where the suspect was using fraudulent checks. Here is how the Decatur Police describe the ensuing events leading up to the arrest of one suspect:
“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On October 31st of 2014, Belk Department Store reported to the Decatur Police Department an incident of Theft and Forgery. During the investigation, it was learned that Ladamian Nickelson purchased merchandise from Belks on two separate occasions using fraudulent checks.
On November 3rd of 2014, Nickelson returned to the Belks Store in Decatur and attempted to purchase more merchandise using the more fraudulent checks. The police were notified and arrived before Nickelson left the store.
Nickelson was transported to the police department as part of further investigation. As a result, Ladamian Frunshawn Nickelson was charged with two counts of Theft of Property in the Second Degree. Nickelson was processed into the Decatur City Jail and then transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 bond.”
