Laura Sue (Cleveland) Cheatwood, 98, born September 10, 1916 went home to be with the Lord on November 2, 2014 at Valley View Nursing Home. She was a lifelong Huntsville, Alabama resident. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.B. Cheatwood, and her parents, Lee and Idella (Schrimsher) Cleveland; brothers Bill, Louis, and Oscar; and sisters, Ola Cobb, Mamie Bragg, Louise Limbough and Gladys Taylor. She also lost a beloved daughter, Joyce Fann and one great grandson.
She is survived by three sons, Glenn (Lynne) of Dayton Ohio, Douglas (Gayle) of Toney, Alabama and David (Cheryl) of Huntsville; sister, Evelyn Childers of Olive Branch, Mississippi; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Whitesburg Baptist Church South Campus, 7300 Whitesburg Drive, Huntsville, with Bro. Spencer Hardiman officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
