COL. Curtis Ray Morton, USA (RET.), 71, of Huntsville passed away Saturday at a local hospital. Mr. Morton was a retired Colonel with the U.S. Army. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher and was very active with the church. Survivors include his wife Nancy Morton; son: COL. Mike Morton and wife: Anita; daughter: Jennifer Matthews and husband: Kenneth; grandchildren: Laurel Matthews, Michael Matthews and Katie Morton; his parents: R.C. Morton and Minnie Lee Durant and 3 siblings: Anna Taylor, Vickie Ward and Duane Morton. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 9:30am until 11:00am followed by a memorial service at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church (Gathering Space) with Reverend Mark Seanor and Reverend Billy Orton officiating.
