Sam Joseph Ervin, 88, of Ardmore, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at his home.
Born Friday, May 14, 1926 in Athens, Alabama, he was the son of the late Joe Ervin and the late Cora Davis Ervin.
He was preceded in death by brothers; Herman and wife Lule Mae Ervin, Ernest Ervin, John David Ervin, Charles Ervin, two sisters; Lossie Ervin and Nancy Lewter.
He was raised in this area and returned to Ardmore from Nashville twenty eight years ago. He was a member of UNA Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee.
Surviving are wife, Pauline Kimble Ervin, Ardmore, TN. son; David (Sandra) Ervin, Warrior, AL, daughter; Tena Ervin , Greenbrier, TN. Grandchildren; Shane (Jami) Ervin. Nikki (Michael) Anderson. Six Great Grandchildren; Two stepchildren, Donnie (Rhonda) Putnam, Jerry Putnam, two step Grandchildren, five step Grandchildren, eight step Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many very special friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Steve Hargrove and Bruce Barber officiating. Burial will be in Mt Pleasant Cemetery, Ardmore, Alabama.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 17, 2014, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
