Mr. John Louis McDonald was the socond son born to the former Minnie Fletcher McDonald and the late Curtis McDonald, Sr., on August 24, 1948. He separated this life at Shoals Hospital, Muscle Shoals, AL. on October 4, 2014.
John accepted Christ at an early age and joined Town Creek M.B. Church. He later re-united with the church and joined Macedonia M.B. Church.
After graduating from Central High School (Courtland AL) in 1968, John completed a military term with the United States Navy. He was a former employee of Ford Motor Company and a Dunlap Rubber Company retiree.
John leaves a host of family and friends to cherish his memory. A devoted wife (38 years) and caregiver, Delois Hampton McDonald (Lois Jean). Four childred: Jarvis, Janeika and Jamar McDonald all of Leighton, AL., Michael Barrett of Decatur, AL. A loving mother, Minnie Grizzard Fletcher, Ahtens, AL., 1 sister: Annette (Levonna) Shoulders, Athens, AL., 4 brothers: Robert (Matilda) McDonald and Curtis McDonald, Jr. both of Leighton, AL., Walter (Brenda) McDonald, Richmond, VA and Reginald David, Athens, AL. 3 aunts: Corine Spangler, Town Creek, AL., Mazine Shouders, Detroit, MI, Willie Mae Douglas, Belle Mina, AL. 1 aunt-in-law: Ann McDonald, Nashville, TN., 4 sister-in-laws: Helen Williams, Ethellynn Carter ans Shirley Hampton, Chattanooga, TN, Mattie (Elvin) Webb, Plano, TX., 3 brothers-in-law: Harry (Katie) Hampton, Chattanooga, TN., Robert (Margie) Hampton, Athens, AL., James (Lois) Garner, Town Creek, AL. and a host of special nieces, nephews, Cousins and friends.
