Halene Greene peacefully passed through the gates of Heaven at home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014.
She was born in Jasper, Tennessee, on September 16, 1928. A loving and devoted mother, sister and friend, she touched the lives of all those she came in contact with by her radiant beauty both inside and out.
She is predeceased by her son, Thomas Shane Greene, and survived by six children, Glenn, Lexington, Kentucky, Steve, Lexington, Kentucky, Jeff (Racee), Lexington, Kentucky, Janet Fowles (Garrett) Lexington, Kentucky, Jane Hall (John), Birmingham, Alabama and Juli Boeheim (Jim), Syracuse, New York; 15 grandchildren and one great grandson; two sisters, Dot Slusher, Florence, Alabama, and Bebe Denham, Franklin, Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
Though she will be missed, the legacy of the power of her faith, the strength of her gentleness and uncommon perseverance will last forever.
Services will be held on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at 9:30 am at Lexington Baptist Temple in Lexington, Kentucky. A private burial will take place in Scottsboro, Alabama.
