Louis Harold McEwen – Obituary

macLouis Harold McEwen, 92, of Arley passed away on October 7, 2014 at his home.

He was born on April 1, 1922 in Marmaduke, Arkansas. Mr. McEwen served his country in the United States Navy on active duty during WWII from 1942 – 1945 and went on to serve in the United States Navy Reserves from 1947 – 1977. He was a member of Arley First Baptist Church for 22 years, and would like donations to the Arley First Baptist Church Youth Department in lieu of flowers.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 12-2pm at Arley First Baptist Church where services will be held at 2pm. Brother Josh Wilson and Brother Zac Reno will officiate. Burial will be in Arley First Baptist Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his daughter, Belinda McEwen Mays and her husband Tillman; step sons, Greg Speer and Lel Speer; he was Gramps to 4 grandchildren, Byron Speer, Kali Speer, Bailey Speer and Tucker Speer; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Frances McEwen; parents, David and Mary Elizabeth McEwen; son, Lynn Paul McEwen; brothers, James McEwen, Ralph McEwen and Billy McEwen; and sisters, Ruby McEwen McLean and Maudell McEwen Ferguson.
