Mr. Thomas M. Sauls, 86, of Florence, passed away at his residence Sept. 18, 2014. He was a member of First Christian Church, graduated from Georgia Tech in 1951, served in the U.S. Marine Corps, was employed as an industrial engineer with Reynolds Metals Co. for 35 years and Southwire, a member of the Florence Exchange Club and he volunteered until recently with the VA clinic in Sheffield and with the Shoals Entrepreneurial Center and “Score.”
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014. There will be a graveside service 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, in Greenview Memorial Park. Officiating will be the Rev. James Storie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Sauls; father, Coy Malone Sauls; mother, Buena Vida Sauls; and stepmother, Irene Jones.
He is survived by his son, Daryl Lee Sauls, of Florence, Alabama.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Iron and Dr. Sago, and the staff at ECM Hospital on the third and fifth floors. We would also like to thank Glenwood Rehab Center and Gentiva Hospice, along with Stephanie Lambert and Jordan Weaver from Gentiva Hospice.
