MUSCLE SHOALS-Police are working an active shooting scene on 2nd Street in Muscle Shoals, Arbor Village Apartments, apartment #1204 . The shooter has apparently shot his sister who has been air-lifted to the hospital. Her condition remains unavailable at this time.
The shooter has been exchanging gun fire with local police for over an hour. Several law enforcement agencies are on hand as well as Alabama State Troopers and the shooter remains inside the apartment. There are negotiations on going.
People have been cleared to a safe area around the apartment as authorities try to persuade the shooter to surrender. The media are awaiting a police update which should be held in a few minutes. As we get more 
information we will make this information available to the public.
According to High ranking unknown sources it is believed the shooter is dead. At this time it is not known if the shots were self-inflected or results of police gun fire.
There has been no gunfire for the last two hours. Law enforcement are assessing the scene to determine their next step.
