Michael Sean Taylor, 41, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014, from complications of Type 1 diabetes at home. Michael was born Feb. 24, 1973, to Susan and Gainum Taylor. He is survived by his mother; brother, Evan Taylor; and sister, Glenda Borden.
He attended Red Bay High School. Following high school, he worked for several local grocery stores and received the 1996 “Employee of the Year” award from the Shoals Area Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities. He loved working because of the happiness he experienced while interacting with the people he worked with and those he helped in the stores.
Michael was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and the San Francisco Giants, but his passion was Alabama football! He read every publication about the team and had a collection of Bear Bryant memorabilia.
He loved his family and dedicated himself to the care of his younger brother and mother.
A private memorial of his life will be held at a future date. Memorials may be made to Insulin for Life USA, a nonprofit charity. Donations may be sent to 5745 SW 75th Street, No. 116, Gainesville, FL 32608 or www.ifl-USA.org.
Arrangements by Greenview Funeral Home.
