Mr. Johnny Lee Walker, 72, of Tuscumbia, went home to be with our Father on Friday, July 18, 2014. He passed peacefully at home after a long battle with COPD in the presence of his family. The memorial service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church Colbert Heights with Nick McSpadden officiating.
Johnny was preceded in death by his two daughters, Jeri Lynn Bobo and Teri Lynn Ergle.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Walker of almost 49 years; daughter, Sherry Lynn Willis; son, Matthew Shawn Walker and wife, Whitney all of Tuscumbia; brother, Alton Manley of Leighton; sister, Ruby Hines of Russellville; grandchildren, Tiffany Calvert, Johnathan Ergle, Jared Ergle and Drew Riley; four great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Ryland, Ella and Landyn; one expected and one special little boy, Brody.
The family finds peace in knowing he is whole again, no more pain, and no more suffering. He is at home with our Lord and his two beautiful daughters waiting on the rest of the family’s arrival. “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8
